I have more than 20 years experience in a number of business roles in the private and public sector in Scotland and abroad. My main areas of expertise are project & change management as well as strategy development. I currently work full-time in economic development. As a public sector Project Manager I have extensive experience in stakeholder engagement and partnership working.
I am also a trained conflict resolution professional (postgraduate Certificate in Mediation, Conflict Resolution and Negotiation from Strathclyde University) and have trained as a workplace coach (Institute of Leadership & management). I also have an MBA from Strathclyde Business School (2009).
“I have had direct experience of working with Catherine for around two years […] She is a very professional person […] I have seen her interact with academics, industrialists and government officials and her personal style and approach to discussion has been most effective in persuading others to engage with a common purpose and targeting strategic outcomes.”
Professor Sir Jim McDonald, Principal and Vice-Chancellor, The University of Strathclyde
Pro bono work
I want to make my expertise available to good causes which may not be able to access paid services. I am a pro bono mediator with Strathclyde University Mediation Clinic, which provides pro bono mediation for a number of Sheriff Courts in the West of Scotland. In addition to this, I am offering pro bono consultancy to social enterprises and charities in the Central Belt. Please feel free to contact me to discuss your organisation’s needs.
“I’ve worked with Catherine for over 5 years […] Catherine combines a strategic mindset with a highly structured and analytical approach. This makes her a very valuable asset in developing as well as reviewing strategies and new ideas. She’s acted as a great sounding board for some of my own thinking and can be counted on to offer new and valuable insights.”
Ewan Mearns, Senior Manager, Strategy & Sectors at Scottish Enterprise
